Here is a list of scriptures that God used in my life this year. At one point about mid summer, I completely unplugged from social media, the news, and articles posted by friends. There comes a time when we have to put confidence in God’s Word and God’s Word alone! I am thankful He gives wisdom!
Psalms 23:4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
2 Timothy 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. (Fear is a demonic spirit that has covered this entire planet.)
Psalms 56:3 What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee. (While fear will not go away, I can use it to trigger higher levels of faith)
Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. (Been HUGE in my life this year!) – God loves me so much that He does not require understanding, He just requires trust.
Acts 5:29 Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men. (In the words of a good friend – “I obey God not the governor”)
Romans 5:1-5 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: 2 By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. 3 And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; 4 And patience, experience; and experience, hope: 5 And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.
1 John 2:25 And this is the promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life. (Life does not begin at death, but life begins the day I trust Jesus Christ)
Colossians 1:17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. (God is the sustainer of all life)
Colossians 3:17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him. (If we are going to do it, then it needs to be for His glory)
Acts 17:22-31 Then Paul stood in the midst of Mars’ hill, and said, Ye men of Athens, I perceive that in all things ye are too superstitious. 23 For as I passed by, and beheld your devotions, I found an altar with this inscription, TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Whom therefore ye ignorantly worship, him declare I unto you. 24 God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands; 25 Neither is worshipped with men’s hands, as though he needed any thing, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things; 26 And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation; 27 That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us: 28 For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring. 29 Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man’s device. 30 And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent: 31 Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.
