The Impact of the Gospel

Romans 1:1 “Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God,”

Those that receive the Gospel are affected by the Gospel.  The Gospel message will have an impact on any person that believes its message.  The message of the Gospel is still very simple.  It is the message that Christ died for our sins, was buried, and rose again on the third day.  These three simple statements have such a life changing affect on the person that believes them.  Let me be real clear, just believe in them means that a person has placed their faith and trust in these basic facts.  Those that are truly saved will see three events take place in their lives:

  • We will become Constrained to Serve Jesus Christ:  The word “servant” means “bondslave”.  It literally means that we become so in love with Jesus Christ that we willingly place our lives under His sole authority.
  • We will become Called to Serve Jesus Christ:  The Gospel will always call us to “GO”.  The word “apostle” means “sent one”.  The Gospel will never sit us down, but it will always send us out!
  • We will become Consumed to Share Jesus Christ:  The Gospel will separate us.  Those that have been impacted by the Gospel will be so in love with it that they can’t help to serve it.  It becomes their life’s ambition, their career, their motivation, and their way of life!

Today’s Challenge:  Assess what kind of impact the Gospel has made on your life!
